Medellín

Wellness Day for Women in the Manrique Jardín Neighborhood

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, a comprehensive wellness day was held on March 16 for low-income women living in the Manrique Jardín neighborhood. The event included the participation of 10 volunteers from the foundation and 50 women who attended a psychological talk covering topics such as self-esteem and self-care. There was also an art therapy workshop, a healthy snack prepared on-site, and grocery packages were distributed.

San Pedro de Urabá

Municipality of San Pedro de Urabá, rural areas of Guartinajo, Zumbido Arriba, and El Polvillo.

For several years now, a group of professionals originally from San Pedro de Urabá and their families have been carrying out an initiative called “Raíces de Corazón” (Roots of the Heart). In 2024, the Misiones de Amor Foundation supported this initiative by providing food, school supply kits, gently used clothing, and a team of volunteers. The goal of the initiative was to bring joy and support to the rural communities of Zumbido Arriba, Guartinajo, and El Polvillo. The activities were supported by the Navarro Ruiz family, foundation volunteers, and benefited approximately 300 people.

Esfuerzos de Paz Sector, Commune 8.

This activity aimed to strengthen the overall well-being of vulnerable children living in the area. The event was supported by 21 volunteer professionals from the foundation, who organized recreational activities for the children along with a shared meal. Toys were distributed, and there was plenty of fun. Approximately 200 people benefited from this event.

Geographically located in the district of Altavista in the city of Medellín.

This activity aimed to strengthen the overall well-being of vulnerable children living in the area. The event was supported by 6 volunteer professionals who organized recreational activities for the children and provided snacks. Toys were distributed, and there was plenty of fun. Approximately 40 people benefited from this activity.

Christmas Brigade at the San Javier Intermediate Care Center.

This activity aimed to strengthen the overall well-being of vulnerable children living in the area. It was supported by 16 volunteer professionals from the foundation and the Secretariat of Peace and Human Rights, who organized recreational activities for the children and provided a shared meal. Toys were distributed, and there was plenty of fun. Approximately 150 people benefited from this activity.

Medellín

Wellness Day for Women and Children in the La Iguaná Area.

A comprehensive wellness day was held for low-income women living in the La Iguaná area, with children from the community also participating in the event. The activity included the support of 12 volunteers from the foundation, 30 women, and 25 children.

The women attended a psychological workshop that addressed topics such as managing fear, participated in an art therapy session, received a healthy snack prepared on-site, and were given grocery packages.

For the children, there was a fun and recreational gathering that included breakfast, ice cream, and sweets.

Itaguí

El Pesebre Sector.

The comprehensive well-being of boys and girls was strengthened through recreational activities and the delivery of Christmas gifts. For women living in poverty in the hamlet, a self-care and emotional control talk was conducted.

San Pedro de Urabá

El Zumbido Hamlet, Urabá.

An activity called “Roots of the Heart,” a comprehensive well-being event aimed at the rural community of El Zumbido Arriba hamlet, was carried out. Supported by the Navarro Ruiz family, the activity was focused on people of different ages, featuring recreational activities, clothing, food, gifts, and school kits for children.

Sopetrán

El Rodeo Hamlet, Sabanazo Sector.

A recreational event for boys and girls was held, focusing on the application of values. For women, an art therapy activity, and emotional management and control were conducted.

San Pedro de Urabá

El Zumbido Hamlet, El Polvillo Indigenous Community, San Pedro de Urabá.

A meeting was held with an indigenous community as part of a comprehensive well-being event where recreational activities were shared with participation from various age groups. Clothing, food, gifts, and school kits were provided for the children.

Yarumal

Wellness Center – Asilo Amparo la Merced.

The aim was to provide a recreational day for the elderly residing there, with activities conducted in collaboration with the Yarumal Verdolaga Foundation.

La Minorista Sector, Medellín.

We supported the activity of the Yonathan Forero Foundation, where 700 meals were shared with the homeless inhabitants of La Minorista Sector.

Manrique neighborhood, Jardín sector.

The International Women’s Rights Day was commemorated with a group of vulnerable women, featuring activities aimed at strengthening mental health through art therapy and self-care talks. Materials for workshops, food kits, and mental health kits were provided in this space.
